The MacMeUp Community is a place to get help with MacMeUp apps, installing macOS on older Macs, OpenCore Legacy Patcher and Hackintosh builds. These guidelines keep it useful and friendly. They form part of our Terms of Use.
1. Be respectful
- Treat everyone with courtesy, especially newcomers. Everyone was new once.
- No harassment, insults, hate speech, threats or personal attacks.
- Disagree with ideas, not people. Keep political and religious debates out of the forum.
2. Ask good questions
- Search before posting; your question may already have an answer.
- Use a descriptive title (“MacBookPro9,2 stuck at Apple logo after OCLP 2.0”, not “Help!!!”).
- Include your Mac model, macOS version, app or OpenCore version, and what you have already tried. Attach logs or screenshots where they help.
- Post in the right section, and post each question once.
- When your problem is solved, say what fixed it so others can benefit.
3. Keep it on topic
- No bumping threads. If you have new information, add it in a reply.
- Off-topic, meaningless or low-effort posts may be removed without warning.
- Attachments must relate to the forum's topics.
4. No piracy, malware or illegal content
- Do not share or request pirated software, cracked apps, leaked or generated license keys, or links to them. This includes paid MacMeUp apps.
- Do not post links to torrent, P2P or warez download sites.
- Do not post spyware, malware or links to sites that carry it.
- Do not post copyrighted material you don't have the right to share. Link to the official source instead. See our Copyright & DMCA Policy.
- Hackintosh and OpenCore discussion is welcome. Distributing Apple software, firmware or modified macOS installers is not; point people to Apple's own downloads.
5. No spam or self-promotion
- No advertising, affiliate links or promotion of other products, services or sites unless a moderator has agreed.
- Accounts created to spam will be banned immediately and permanently.
6. Protect privacy and accounts
- One account per person. Duplicate accounts will be banned or deleted.
- Never post your or anyone else's serial numbers, license keys, passwords, email addresses or other personal information. Blur them out of screenshots and logs.
- Don't impersonate other members, MacMeUp staff or Apple.
7. Moderation
Moderators may edit, move, hide or remove posts, and give warnings, suspensions or bans, depending on how serious and how frequent the problem is. Serious violations (spam, malware, piracy, threats) may lead to an immediate ban. Use the Flag option on any post to report it to the moderators. If you think a moderation decision was wrong, contact us through the Contact page; please don't argue it out in public threads.
8. Your responsibility
Advice in the Community comes from fellow members and may be wrong. Back up before trying anything, and read our Disclaimer.
