Please read this Disclaimer before following any guide on macmeup.com or using a MacMeUp app. It applies together with our Terms of Use and EULA.
1. Information only
Articles, guides, reviews, news and forum posts on MacMeUp are published for general information and education. They are not professional, technical or legal advice for your particular situation. macOS, firmware and third-party tools change often, so a guide that was accurate when written may be out of date when you read it.
2. Modifying your Mac is at your own risk
Many of our guides and apps involve advanced changes, including:
- creating bootable installers and erasing disks;
- mounting and editing the EFI System Partition, OpenCore configurations and boot arguments;
- turning off or changing System Integrity Protection, Gatekeeper or other security features;
- installing macOS on Macs Apple no longer supports, or on non-Apple hardware;
- resetting NVRAM, changing startup settings and removing system caches.
These changes can cause data loss, stop your Mac from starting, reduce its security, or affect your warranty or AppleCare coverage. Installing macOS on unsupported or non-Apple hardware may also be outside the terms of Apple's software license agreement. Always make a complete, tested backup first, read every step before you start, and only go ahead if you understand and accept the risks. MacMeUp is not responsible for any damage or loss that results.
3. Third-party software and links
We write about, link to and sometimes rely on software we do not make, such as OpenCore, OpenCore Legacy Patcher, Sparkle and other open-source projects. That software belongs to its own developers and is covered by their own licenses and support. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for their content, security or availability.
4. No affiliation with Apple
Apple, the Apple logo, Mac, macOS, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro, Finder and Safari are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions. MacMeUp is an independent developer and is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, endorsed or otherwise approved by Apple Inc. 5. Opinions and reviews
Reviews and opinion pieces reflect the author's view at the time of writing. We do not accept payment for reviews. We do not currently use affiliate links; if we ever do, we will label them clearly.
6. Community content
Posts in the MacMeUp Community are written by members, not by MacMeUp, and do not necessarily reflect our views. We do not check every post for accuracy. Please use your own judgement before following advice from the forum.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacMeUp is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the information on this site or the Community. Our full liability terms are in sections 10 and 11 of the Terms of Use. Nothing here limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
